Google Cloud Digital Leader
The Google Cloud Digital Leader is Google's entry-level certification for the Google Cloud Platform. It validates broad knowledge of cloud capabilities and Google Cloud's product portfolio — including data analytics, AI, application modernization, security, and operations — without requiring hands-on engineering skills. It is the recommended starting point before pursuing the Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) or any Professional certification.
This practice test gives you 250 real-style multiple-choice questions with detailed, study-aid-quality explanations. Topic distribution follows the refreshed January 2024 exam guide.
What the Cloud Digital Leader exam covers
- Digital transformation with Google Cloud (10%) — what digital transformation is, why organisations move to public cloud, OpEx vs CapEx, cloud / hybrid / multi-cloud models, Google Cloud's distinctive positioning on open source and customer choice (Kubernetes, TensorFlow, Anthos), migration patterns (the 6 Rs), and TCO modelling.

Looker and Looker Studio for BI.
- Modernize infrastructure and applications (20%) — Compute Engine (IaaS), App Engine (PaaS), Cloud Run (serverless containers), Cloud Functions (FaaS), Google Kubernetes Engine (Standard and Autopilot), Anthos / Google Distributed Cloud for hybrid and multi-cloud, networking (VPC, Cloud DNS, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud CDN, Cloud Armor, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, Private Service Connect), migration tooling (Migration Center, Migrate to VMs / Containers, Database Migration Service, Transfer Appliance), CI/CD (Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, Artifact Registry), and API management (API Gateway, Apigee).
- Trust & security (15%) — Google's Shared Fate model, Cloud IAM, the resource hierarchy (Organization → Folders → Projects → Resources), Cloud KMS, Cloud HSM, Cloud EKM, Confidential Computing, Secret Manager, VPC Service Controls, Security Command Center, Google Security Operations (Chronicle + Mandiant + SOAR), Access Transparency and Access Approval, Assured Workloads for regulated industries.
- Scaling with Google Cloud operations (25%) — pricing (Sustained Use Discounts, Committed Use Discounts, Spot VMs, Free Tier), Pricing Calculator, billing reports, BigQuery billing export, Budgets, Active Assist Recommender, Google Cloud Support tiers (Basic / Standard / Enhanced / Premium), Cloud Status and Personalized Service Health, Cloud Architecture Center, the Cloud Observability suite (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Cloud Trace, Cloud Profiler, Error Reporting), Service Level Objectives and error budgets, deployment patterns (canary, blue/green, rolling), and landing-zone scaffolding via Cloud Foundation Toolkit.
Exam format on Google
The live Cloud Digital Leader exam has 50–60 multiple-choice and multiple-select questions, completed in 90 minutes. There is no published passing score; Google reports a simple pass/fail. Our 250-question bank deliberately exceeds that volume so you have substantial study material on every domain.
Who should take this?
Sales, marketing, product, and other business roles working with Google Cloud should treat CDL as foundational. Engineers new to Google Cloud (often coming from AWS or Azure) use it as a structured way to absorb Google-specific terminology and product names before progressing to ACE and the Professional certs (PCA, PDE, etc.).
